Façade Enhancement Grant Program
Ridgefield Main Street has announced two grant programs to provide matching funds for the enhancement of Downtown Ridgefield.
The grant program aims to leverage Ridgefield Main Street’s investment in the beautification efforts Downtown, stimulate private investment, and enhance the pedestrian environment.
The goal of the program is to enhance the physical image of the Downtown as a quality place to shop, work, walk, invest in, and live.
This program will be offered to Downtown business and property owners who desire to make small-scale or larger project improvements to the facade of their buildings. Eligible facade expenses may include, but are not limited to, landscaping (soil, flower pots, etc.), signage, sandwich boards, art, exterior lighting, painting, exterior cleaning, awning cleaning and/or replacement and window storefront display improvements that are visible to customers.
The grants are issued through the Design Committee and are intended to help Downtown businesses and property owners improve the exterior look of their buildings. The grants provide a 50 percent match, up to $1,000 and $5,0000 per business or property, for approved improvement costs. Applications will be accepted for as long as funding is available through December 31. Grant awards will be first-come, first-served, and based on available funding. Applications are now being accepted and will be reviewed and awarded by the Design Committee of Ridgefield Main Street.
